Hello fellow friends and fishermen, You have surfed
in to home of the North River Geek's aka NRG Big Fish aka Sean McDonald's website. I
don't actually live on or near a river called North River, but Live
on the North side of the Tennessee
River in Chattanooga,
TN, hence the name.
I'm a fishing fanatic if you haven't guessed by now I'm married to
my lovely wife Cheryl, and have a
4 yr old son Logan.
I'm originally from
Morgantown, WV home of
the WVU Mountaineers,
goooo Mountaineers ! I moved to Chattanooga in 1989 .. I love WV it
will always hold a fond place in my heart. But I also love TN, and it
is now where I call home.
I have 2 great loves besides my wife and son, my wife says its my
mistress, can ya guess ? Fishing and my boat, she's an old boat, but
she has been good to me so far, and we have had short but very
involved relationship.
By trade I'm a computer geek , er uh
computer technician. I did work for a national warranty service company
that does onsite service work for all the major computer companies.
I average 70,000 miles per year in driving to fix peoples computer
problems. In the spring and summer a lot of that is lightning
related. One thing I can not stress enough if you have a computer
get a decent surge Suppressor 1900 joules minimum rated, make
sure it has phone and cable TV connections, and that if you have
cable modem, DSL, or Dialup make sure you go thru the Surge
Suppressor to protect your investment and that it is 100% guaranteed
on a grounded outlet. no ground = no protection. Even this
may not be enough protection if you live on a ridge, mountain, or
other high elevation.
To sum it up ... all computers break,
all operating systems stink, some just less than others. Be an
educated consumer, do some research, do not rely on friends and
family, they only can tell you about the computer they bought 2 yrs
ago. go to the library read the computer magazines, or go to the
book store, grocery store get a copy of several magazines on
computers and/or get on the internet and search for top 10 rated
computers.
